Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
What data is included in Explorer?
+
Explorer gives you full access to the provider directory, national and state views, and facility profiles across all 8 provider types — hospitals, nursing homes, home health, hospice, dialysis, rehabilitation, long-term care, and more. No account required.
How often is the data updated?
+
CMS publishes data updates quarterly. Our ETL pipeline processes each release as soon as it's available, so you're always working with the most current CMS data.
What will Pro include?
+
Pro will add benchmarking, historical trending back to 2020, saved searches, facility watchlists, strength and opportunity analysis, and CSV exports. Join the waitlist to get notified at launch and receive founding member pricing.
Is this the same data that's on CMS.gov?
+
Yes — all data originates from CMS public datasets. The difference is that we clean, normalize, structure, and contextualize that data into actionable insights. What takes hours to extract from raw CMS files is available in seconds on OpenHealthData.
Do you offer discounts for nonprofits or academic institutions?
+
Yes. We plan to offer discounted pricing for academic researchers, public health agencies, and registered nonprofits. Get in touch at [email protected] to discuss your needs.
